Dear FIX, Thank you for signing up for Organizational Analysis!
A myriad of social groups operate in society and attempt to accomplish shared goals or to produce a product -- we encounter them as schools, hospitals, restaurants, stores, companies, governments, professional associations, foundations, and even online courses. These types of social groups are organizations. Many organizations are complex social systems that are both a point of admiration and frustration. In this course, you will learn to analyze and make sense of them so they can be changed and improved.
I’m excited that you’re planning to join us to learn about some fundamental theories of organization. These theories will simplify the complexity of organizations, help us analyze their struggles, and propose viable managerial solutions. In the end, we think you’ll learn there is nothing more practical than a good theory.
We expect our class to be offered in the fall of 2012. We'll notify you again when the class starts.
All the best, Daniel A. McFarland (Source: McFarland, Daniel A., Organizational Analysis)
